Pirelli in Latin America

On October 20, 2010 Pirelli illustrated its development plans in Argentina, where the Group began operations 100 years ago. These plans, which aim to increase production capacity and to consolidate the leadership of Pirelli in Latin America, are part of the Company’s international expansion strategy.

Over these last several years, that strategy has steadily expanded its direct industrial operations in the markets that offer higher growth rates and competitive industrial costs.

In particular, expansion of its presence in Argentina ensures that Pirelli has a major platform both for meeting growing demand on the domestic market, which is allocated about 50% of output, and satisfying demand on important export markets, especially Brazil and the United States.
